Well there's steak & lamb in the original recipe, but since you're using lamb, I'd say the lamb stock cubes will be best (though it wouldn't spoil it if you used beef).

That's what I thought Gilly, it says you can use lamb or beef, or lamb and beef, but it always says beef stock cubes in all the recipies. I'll give it a go, and the next time, I'll use beef stock.
It's uncharted territory :chuckle:

Yes, I rarely buy lamb stock & any meat stock'll do really - it makes a difference to the flavour but imo it neither detracts nor improves. The good thing about casseroles is they don't have to be a set recipe - you can add things you like & omit things you're not keen on. Just cook very slowly for hours on a low heat & it'll be yummy.

When speaking online to a prospective date it might be an idea to avoid using words like 'paki' and 'rag head'. Especially if the chap you are chatting with has the words 'no bigots please. I don't do tabloid prejudice' clearly written on his profile.
And 'lol' at the end of every message? No one laughs out loud that much without being commited to an asylum for the mentally weak.
In fact, can you just put 'I am a bigot' in your profile to save any confusion.

Nice to see you're being suitably selective.

When people LOL too much I like to picture them drooling, and their eyeballs skittering about in their heads. :)

That's probably not too far from the truth. :)

My younger sister is fond of the sharp intake of breath with ohmygod on the end. She has even been known to do the ever popular hand wavey thing in front of her mouth. :emb:

Hi feather! That is actually more or less what I did - except I didn't sew up our Rosie's jumper, I wrote Xmas cards while watching ancient episodes of ER! :)

The lamb stock, sorry "lamb stock" :hahano: has got monosodium glutamate in it  Is there no escape from that crap?

There goes my wholesome, healthy, meal :hahano: Making food with actual real food, then crumbling a cube of MSG into it...nah, don't like it...probably taste like crap without it though

*High five*

So now you've tested the theory;
1: Stick another load in the machine
2: Sew Rosie's jumper
3: Watch more tv tat.

I can see a series of lifecoach books and dvd's coming out of this if we're not careful.

On my mind right now is disappointment. I was supposed to visit a supplier in Windsor this afternoon but because of a state visit by King Rubber-Titi of Kuwait the centre of Windsor has been closed off. :(
Normally that would cheese me off a tad but to soften the blow my favourite rep will be stopping by soon. Her north eastern accent has an amazing 'spanner' effect on me and I'm afraid that I may well blow some of the department budget just to keep her talking.

I am such a sucker for an accent. :emb: ahhhh

I've even booked us a meeting room. :norty:

If you're going to read the labels, it's probably best doing it before you make the purchase! :D

Though if you can read them without a magnifying glass, you're doing better than me!

About an hour ago I was pulling out of a parking lot and a truck was blocking my way to getting on the street. The truck door was open and I was saying "WTF" and then I saw a young man handing some bananas to an old homeless man who I have seen several times before. So, I thought that it was okay, I would be patient. The guy held out his hand and apologized to me as he got in his truck and the old man was was making the cross on his chest, like a catholic would do and then he peeled his banana and was eating it and his hands were shaking. I don't think they were shaking from DT's or alcoholism, either because I have never seen him shaky before, he usually leans on his cane, real still.

:hide:
Anyways, I thought it was really sweet. It was a picture worthy of restoring your faith in humanity. Give me half an hour and I will be cynical again.

My daughter does that sharp intake of breath thing at the drop of a hat, or sometimes actually lets out a shrill scream when you least expect it. You jump up, adreneline pounding through your veins in response, expecting to deal with an amputated limb / armed intruder etc, and she'll just be lolling about, saying something like, "A woman's just walked past wearing the same top I've got on".

*Edit* Nice tale, Nosey. Makes you feel humble. :)

A couple of weeks ago, we (a group of extended family & husband & self) were going to a dinner dance, which husband had encouraged us all to attend.

Resplendent in ball gown, and just adding the finishing touches (i.e. throwing make-up in the air and catching it on my face, as I normally like to do) I commented to him that he was leaving it a bit late for getting himself ready. His reply was, "Oh yeah - we're not going. I forgot to get the tickets" (the tickets that he was supposed to be getting for us all).

Right now, we're supposed to be getting ready to go & pick my mum up & meet my sister's family in 20 minutes, as we're taking mum for lunch, 'cause it's her birthday.

As I type, I can hear the sound of husband (who is unwashed, garbed in socks & undies, and with hair standing on end) unnecessarily sanding something somewhere in the house. :toetap:

The reason I describe this, is so that people will hopefully get some insight into why I am occasionally a little terse.

Have a nice birthday luncheon, Gilly.

I guess your husband must have been sanding when you were putting on your ball gown too, otherwise he might have wondered where you were going. :poke:

Cheese on toast...more specifically, Red Leicester on toast...it's shit. I usually like a nice bit of mature cheddar on my toast, but thought I'd get some of the above for a change.

Tasteless crap

What does that blue type cheese taste like? That mouldy looking stuff? I'm scared of cheese that looks off :chuckle:
