What's on my mind right now, is that a work colleague has just had some kind of fit (epileptic?) and there are no first-aiders here!

Everybody sat round looking like they were going to faint, cry or be sick, and watched me trying to wrestle this man who's twice my weight on the floor & get him in to the recovery position without damaging either of us!

Not one of the 4 men in the office raised a finger to help, and one of them was making inane comments about how they should be allowed to go home because of the trauma of witnessing such a thing, and he hoped he hadn't 'caught it' . FFS!

My ex-wife was epileptic and after her diagnosis I was shown what to do in the event that she had a seizure. Difficult to manage someone when they fit but your actions sound first class to me.

Well, I've found out that there were 2 1st aiders, but one was on a day's holiday, & the other recently relocated to the London branch.

But get this - before I worked there, this man had had another fit, and at that time, the bloke who was making stupid comments today, and 2 of the girls had been allowed to go home, after fussing about being so upset by the incident!!!

I know not everyone's good in an emergency, but who the flip sits there and watches without lifting a finger to help?

I confess to having been quite shocked, because I was trying to get him to the ground without him being hurt, and during this, he was biting his tongue I think, because there was blood coming out of his mouth, and it was more of a struggle because of furtniture being in the way - I couldn't believe they all sat round like a load of waxwork dummies, watching this struggle, while I was trying tilt a a freaking desk with a computer on it out of the way with one leg, & maneuver a filing cabinet with my hip, so that I could support his dead weight without him smacking his head on anything.

They were scared because he was making alarming noises, and his eyes were rolling about!

What a bunch of wankers I work with!

And the bugger must have super-glued the knot in his tie!

After requesting an ambulance several times, someone eventually figured out how to order one, and word is, he's OK.

Thank goodness there was someone in the office with lots of experience in wrestling a resisting man to the floor and loosening his clothing.
