Still in a lot of pain with my back-knack, hurts like a fuckerbastard, and I've no idea how I did it. No probs before basket time last night but woke up in agony this morning. Feels like the left side of my body has dropped an inch or so.
Did the 'little soldier' routine and went into work as normal, had a bit of work place banter about the state I was in and at this point a work chum says 'back in a min' and swans off.
A short while later he comes back in the company of one of our tech-wizards who it turns out is a sports physio type and who offered to see if there was anything she could do to alleviate some of the ouch. She monkeyed about with my lower back and did a couple of twisty bear-hug things that caused a few clicks and cracks, all of which rid me of some of the pain.
So, and here comes the flint-ish bit, I says my thanks and crack a few gags and I finish with the standard 'cheers, I owe ya a pint for that' comment that I like to throw around to anyone helpful, at which point she asks whether I'd like to buy her the pint this weekend, she is free on Saturday. Embarrassed thanks but no thanks follow with a you're a bit young for me explanation - but not as blunt and a bit more stammery - and there the conversation ended. It turns out she isn't as young as I thought she was but still waaaaay too young for me.
I don't have a problem with people dating who they want but I've always considered someone more than about 6 or 7 years younger than me to be a bit of a no go. Hard to quantify exactly.
I did say flint-ish. I prefer not to refer to women as bitches or moan about them looking at me when they're with another guy.
