WUB touched on something important imho.
The world is fucked so we end up fucked...AND EVEN MORE SO if you understand why its fucked.

You have to learn to accept the pain that comes and recognise it for what it is.
Serenity only comes when you realise that you have done what you POSSIBLY can to make change for the better and leave it at that.

Could depression be caused by something almost paranormal or a hereditary curse?

:chuckle: That's a good one, andy.

And I really do like what you said here:
I would go even further and say you are not just a part of humanity but a part of all life of all consciousness, of the entire universe.
The human mind can see beauty, it can see art, it can feel emotion. Understanding why you feel emotion to any aspect of input is key to becoming master of yourself imho. You need to be very self aware.

I consider myself to be self aware, but whenever I think I have that part realized, the next year I see I am better at it then the year before. So, I guess that there is always room for improvement when trying to be the "master of oneself", as you say.

True dat.

I guess alot of us who 'know' also struggle somewhat with the serenity part because it isn't always possible to accomplish.

I think it could be, although some would say that is going backwards in time as far as diagnosis goes. But I do think it is possible, Hereditary curses are a curious aspect, too that I have thought about and asked about.

It perhaps isn't possible. You have to kinda force yourself to always see the bright side of life :D

I don't know what to make of that, RA. All I know is that being around certain people can be very draining and those certain types of people are in abundance.

I did read something interesting about extroverts vs. introverts which said that extroverts derive energy from being around others and that introverts recharge themselves when they are alone. So that is food for thought.

A comment from your link:
To Anna: this question is meant for people who know about empaths and psychic energies. You are ignorant for thinking anyone who senses other's emotions should just "get a psychiatrist, get healthy". Excuse me, I'm a psychology major and I have had a therapist tell me that I am an empath. Get it? A therapist told me that I am an empath and I am sensitive to energies, so beat that, retard.

Are you sure? I remember talk of psychic vampires, but if I'd spotted any comment that they were bi polar people specifically, I'd have objected.

Good news indeed.

Whatever it is, wherever it comes from, and however it manifests is different for all of us, but it is our common enemy nonetheless.

I have had my run in with serious depression. I found things to help me and I had friends to help me too. ANd preofessionals, of a sort (mine were Passionist monks). These people and things were the ropes and hands that allowed to lift myself out of that black hole.

I hope you find your own way to rid yourself of this thing and be your true self. :up2:

But the scariest thing was the Ghost Writer :hide: no shit someone who I've never met before, told me stuff fuck N hell they had never been in my house before, but thats another story for another day :axe: :O :umm:

I look forward to it

Well where do I start with this, Ghost Writer I remember a Thread that Gilly posted on, about an angels turning up at your door Well this Angel or who or what ever turned up on my doorstep just after i had been reading that thread FFs Oh gawd , what the fuck have i done, what did I do in a past life to deserve this person to turn up in our life again :aargh:

This person effected the three of us big time, it was heading down a road of self distruction folling the guidance of a charlatan Ghost Writer who I put faith into helping me get by with guidance
I remember meeting this person through a friend of a Friend of my Wifes, Mrs BC came home and told me of this spirit Guide she was had met, and what great things this person can do and they were willing to help, I thought whats the catch here ,
but Mrs BC set up a time to meet on a Saturday, My Wifey told me that this person talks / communicates with Angels as she was told, everyone has got guardian angel/angels We'll I thought I'll give it a go,.

Everything this person came out about me was accurate down to a tee, very scary only took about 20 mins they went into a room and come out with Pages & Pages of info on me what my child hood was like, growing up where I've worked where I've been and what my future holds, And i was Like fuck wheres that computer , Cellphone hiding no internet access doesn't have a mobile
the Ghost Writer told me having all this technology interfers in the readings, they had no Tv no Computer, no Mobile Phone etc
which i thought was great being off the Grid, It was Peaceful at this Ghostwriters house way out in the Wop Wops :D

We started having readings Weekly/Fortnighly and the readings started getting darker, if I didn't start living my life /Our lifes to certain angellic guidance like whatever the fuck that is,

We had nine rabbits Two Dogs Two Cats , at the time you're possibly wondering what this has got to do with the story that'll come later, One reading involved was negative , the negative influences in my home , The Ghost Writer gave a layout of our home where
everthing was, i had Occult Books under my PC Desk. conspiracy magazines, etc and also who i was communicating with on Forums, DIF, & ILF Forum certain members from afar were using the Dark Arts, also what really spooked us, was the last parts of the reading was theres a Statue, in our bedroom, the Eyes Of Satan were watching over us every night :couch: :axe:

I was like what the fuck :hide: Jesus H Christ, Occult Objects Mrs Bc And I narrowed it down to what i used to collect LOTHR Murchandise I was mad on it at one stage all the Movies, Books, Games, Posters etc etc There were three figurines Two Wringwraithes And in the Middle was Sauron with Glowing eyes, we packed up everthing in the house LOTR stuff boxed it stuck it in the shed, :O out of the house out of mind, and very soon after that things started going from bad to worse to absolute shit,
One of our Rabbits Died, Healthy Just dropped Dead then the next day another then another, I thought it was the Calici virus
So I Qarantined the ones I thought were sick, then we had a Black Lab puppie he was doin well then he went absolute berserk could not control him , just went mental ended up loosing my rag he became uncontrollable i've had Labs before, he just wouldn't settle hated being inside would not settle inside either so we put him in a dog kennel, hated that too The neighbours complained
wankers they are, but hey give a dog a chance we decided the best thing was too re home him which unforunately it
the only option left...
Then another rabbit Died, even after spending dosh on vacines, specially on special disinfectant they use on dairy farms
We re-homed them too except for two and before, just before we went rehomed the lab, my two dogs went on a killing spree
and killed one of our giant flemishes and that was really out of nature for them

We asked at a reading whats going on, there was an unease going on and it was getting worse, more tension my daughter started sleep walking we know now she does this now when she's deeply distressed ,
There's something in our house we were told , even the cats would not come inside, :umm:
The Ghost Writer told us that they would have to do a blessing on the house, and its occupates cleansing , and they said the GW said we would have to start living by the spirtual way bla bla bla if there were to be any changes for the good

Thats enough for now more tomorrow I'm starting to feel sick, just thinking about this shit again :barfonu:

I'm not sure what to say about that BC, except that I hope things work out well for you.

I wanted to mention that I nearly became a psychologist, I was training for it, but I came to certain conclusions about the subject of Psychology, and about psychiatry and psychology as professions, so I jacked it in. Then later on I found the following book - which is well worth reading - in which the author had pretty much exactly the same view as myself. I will copy and paste one of the reviews from Amazon which is a pretty good synopsis of the book:

www.amazon.co.uk/Myth-Mental-Illness-Tho...id=1355496364&sr=8-1
Szasz is not saying there is no such thing as human distress, he agress with that. It is just the labels and diagnoses that are attached to the person who exhibits a categorised "illness." Mental illness cannot be found in the body as a disease or a genetic change, therefore he sets out to highlight how psychiatry invented the disorers.

The basic belief being that psychological illnesses do not exist, as in a pathogene, or the body changing its infrastructure irrevocably. There is no bipolar, autism, schizo, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, anorexia gene. There is however a belief these genes exist and huge expenditure is placed upon finding them. All based on the perception that human beings are clockwork toys that lack certain chemicals just like a car or a robot. The views arrive from a sense of making the human being into a robot regardless of veracity. Szasz begins to talk apart the constructs within this book, piece by piece, and it makes very uncomfortable reading for any psych doctor, nurse etc.

The first and fundamental error of psych science, it all rests upon belief, just the same as religion. It needs adherents and people to spread the message. Then it needs to take out dissenters. Into the silo huge industries arise based on keeping the real causes of misery a mystery - the social structures created to make sense of the world and negating the emotional world at the expense of abstracts.

Szasz dons his armour, takes his sword and charges ahead into the mass ranks of the believers and they all melt into thin air, because their beliefs are tissue paper. However this tissue paper is encoded in the belief systems of those who need to believe. It is this which keeps it all intact.

An insightful book written to take apart the modern fallacies of psychiatric "science" which is anything but.

I am really of the opinion that all psychological and psychiatric research should be moving towards fMRI and trying to understand the structure of the brain, and how the brain reacts to various phenomena. I would question any diagnosis of depression until the person in question has been properly physically tested at least in the attempt to gather some physical evidence.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

There was an interesting article on the DI headlines page a couple of days ago about the DSM -5
they are now classifying all human emotion as mental illness

The DSM could be made much shorter and simpler if they just wrote that psychiatrists are sane, everyone else is a nut
