Most of the kids will not get to play in college but i have sent some to Division 1, 2 & 3 also technical schools and junior colleges to play. Playing in High school is a really big deal to teenage kids not just for perks like the pretty girls and popularity but also for sense of pride. I have had awesome success story's where kids move on to go play in college. And also terribly sad story's where kids go back to the street life and get shot and killed.

But i will say this,

Nothing feels better then when a kid with no dad calls me on fathers day as if he was my son.

That happened to me this year and i can't explain how accomplished it made me feel.

I will never enjoy life like i did in my 20's again but stuff like that gives my life a bigger purpose now that i'm 33.

There is not many better ways to keep the youth out of trouble then organized sports.

It also gives teens a chance to have fun and sense of community at the same time.

I live in Texas and yes it is a major deal about which high school sports team you participate with, mainly if your a exceptional player and hope to be scouted by a good sports oriented university, people will try to move or somehow get enrolled in a higher class rated school, say from double AA to a four A or higher just for the exposure and oportunities and being scouted as a really good player with potential to advance.

I don't know if it's such a big deal were RA lives

This guy I knew got a sports scholarship to a major football school as a running back, he did great in high school and this was the reason they wanted him , the potential was there.

here's were the problem came in
Another kid also was recruited to this same school at the same time that played the same position and was really exceptional and talented, so he went first team running back the whole time of his university career and the guy I knew never got the playing time except on special teams, {kickoffs and such}

The first team guy was drafted into the NFL and the other guy I knew was overlooked, all because of thinking he made a correct choice to go this particular university's football program.
