How did the Liberal Democrats get into power with the Conservatives?
People voted for a representative democracy.
Not my idea of democracy.
You're an idiot, it's effortless for me to insult you, to call you names, you continually justify it with your attitude, however it's clear yourself and others struggle to insult me, you have to reach and grab for a slur or accusation to level at me, I wonder, is it personal animosity?
Or perhaps it is wilful ignorance, by focusing on me, and finding some way to argue like calling me docile and dismissing everyone who votes as dumb you avoid ever having to think about the questions I ask you.
No it's because you're generally very rude & obnoxious to most of the posters here, and think you're much cleverer than you are.
I've not noticed people struggling to insult you. Maybe you just don't see it....
I wasn't telling you to vote for labour, I was just making the point there are political organizations that exist, who's sole policies are the dissolution of the Monarchy, are you a member or affiliate?
So they get rid of the monarchy & that's it?
Vote for me I'll do that.
Or just a bitter depressed cynic?
Not bitter... or depressed. Cynical yes.

I hold the position of being able to complain about all of them... because I know they're all corrupt scum fuckers.
You on the other hand should be held accountable for any policies (such as war) inflicted by your chosen political party.
By fuck you're dumb.
Lol 0wned
yeh that must be Mike demonstrating his intellectual prowess and his overwhelming ability to insult people.
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
What reason would you have for not voting for Syriza?
Your previous answer was absolutely ludicrous, "they want to govern", wow, no shit, get back to reality, so do a hundred other parties, and 99% of them are much worse than Syriza, you wouldn't want autonomy and real active democracy imo, it'd be too hard for a soft liberal fairy like yourself.
Obviously I meant with you at the helm. Anarchism just needs a strong leader and the votes will come rolling in.

Voting makes a difference to the result of the vote. A political party will always win though.
So you agree then...
Nobody voting means no political party wins.
Well the political parties taking part would vote wouldn't they?
But yes I guess in your hypothetical situation if no political party received a vote then none would win.
Actually very insightful point you raise there, take a completely illogical hypothetical situation, set it as an ideal, then decry everybody living in the real world as obstructing your progress to AnarchoLiberalUtopia.com.

Fuck 'the real world'.
Ah, your leaders have predefined the limits to your dreams!

Doesn't make sense, but ii think you said People voted for them, so we agree, voting does make a difference.
It does make sense - if you have any to kick off with it tends to help.
of course voting makes a difference.... it enables the likes of the Tories & Obama to tell you how your life should be.

Have the literally billions of votes cast in the post-Second World War period made any difference to that? Yes, the more votes that have been cast, the bigger the inequality has become, despite the fact that all governments promise to do the opposite!
When the Conservative party was elected they promised over and over again to "get the economy going" and "get Britain working", and make sure that decent hard working folk got a better deal. Has this happened? No, the economy's been a fucking disaster, 20% of people are borrowing money to buy food, unemployment is reaching record levels even though they fiddle the figures, they introduced the Work Programme scheme which guarantees that people WON'T get paid for working, and so on.
What have the Liberal Democrats done? Fucking nothing. So little that the stupid people that voted for them are going to desert them in droves at the next election.
Remember why they were elected? Because everyone was so pissed off with thirteen years of the Labour government's stupidity, lies, corruption, duplicity, two-faced behaviour and appalling mis-management of virtually everything. So we'll probably see Labour get voted back into government again at the next election, or maybe people will re-elect the government that's currently screwing them. I can't wait to find out.
It should be self-evident how pointless it is to vote. If it isn't, I don't know how far you'd have to have a cock wedged up your arse before you felt it.
Funnily enough, I saw a tit with a clipboard wandering around the other day trying to get me to go on to the electoral register. Good luck, pal. Send me some parliamentary candidates round, though, I'd love to have a chat with them. They won't come round twice.

If you really wanted true democracy then you would support direct democracy and any party supporting it.
You don't support someone who you disagree with 90%, especially not when they can't even follow through on the 10% for example...
Hes sorry, hes so oh fucking sorry and he really really means it...LOLOL!!!!
Cynical? Its for a damn good fucking reason, hundreds of years of fucking good reasons of the same fucking shit and the same muppets who keep believing it.

If you actually wanted 'change' then you'd have voted libertarian.
Andy i already told you and WUB that i would have voted for Ralph Nader if that had been an option.
I actually think America needs a widescale social revolution, if any of the third parties start doing well stealing democrat votes, you could well end up with a dodgy Republican like Mitt Romney or Sarah Palin making president, Nader despite his good intentions could easily cause one of those paleo christards to get elected, the alternative to that or a dramatic change in the structure of politics in the U$A is to keep voting Dems i guess?
I couldn't imagine Mitt being taken half as seriously on the global platform as Obama, I think despite the continuing War on Terror and Terrorist detainments ongoing in Gitmo he's done a lot to restore America's global image, especially with the UN and the Mid East.
If i have to get back into this debate with Andy & WUB again i'm going to try and be more mature this time around.
I feel like Mike thinks from a practical perspective that the next generation can relate to more than others here.
Me and WUB kinda got into a little argument awhile back over this and the thread got locked and vented.
I personally believe that in 2000 voting for Nader instead of voting for Gore left us stuck with Bush and the Iraq war.
Now considering that a million people died in Iraq over some people making bad decisions at the voting booth is troubling.
Not Andy, WUB or anyone else can convince me that Bush & Cheney and the PNAC did not have that agenda.
Bush senior started that war and Bush Jr came along and finished it , simple as that.
Having a father and son both be president with one person only in between them is Monarchish.
I honestly just don't believe that Al Gore would have ordered the Shock & Awe of Iraq.
Which leads me to believe that not voting against Republicans is damaging to world health.
So even though i respect George Carlin, the idea of not voting is dangerous sometimes.

You'd think that America being practically in perpetual war regardless of being a republican or democrat government might give the game away that the next government will want at least a bit of a war.... or maybe a massive one.
Yet people vote for it..... as if what's going on is right, or they're blatantly stupid as to fall for the same trick time after time...
Me and WUB kinda got into a little argument awhile back over this and the thread got locked and vented.
Look, no argument from me. My views are quite clear. Anyone is free to hold a different view.
I would just say to you, go back and look at the 'Wealth Inequality in America' video. Are you happy with that situation? If so, carry on as you are. If not, how did voting help change it?
I'm not happy about virtually the same situation occurring in the UK, and it's extremely sad / irritating / amusing to see people engage in the same behaviour over and over again, and then whinge about the government that they voted for.
I've never registered to vote because I always felt that it was pointless, and I'm yet to see anything to change my mind. If I lived in a direct democracy, I would vote all the time.

Do you want to know what thinking practical is? Its called voting libertarian, its called rejecting lies and taking responsibility for yourself.
Its called stopping expecting someone else to provide the answers for you. Because they WON'T, not EVER.
Obama has the SAME agenda as Bush, if you can't see it you are blinded by PR which is its intended purpose.
