It is snowing here in London now, quite heavily where I am.

It also just occured to me how marvellous it must be for all the weeny creatures who have never before experienced snow.

Looking at it out of my window, I'm also reminded just how grateful I am to have a roof over my head and bit of warmth.

All this despite the fact that I will have to work in it all day tomorrow if it's still there and doubtless freeze my knackers off.

Don't fret...I have these moments of lucidity occassionally. Normal hostilities will however be resumed shortly.

Thank you.

We've had about 4-5 inches so far.

It's still coming down quiet heavy and it looks pretty cool.

The nicest thing about it was closing up at work and taking a leisurely drive home with added hand brake skids. Loadsa fun!

I don't envy you having to work in that tomorrow. :(

Yeah...I probably won't be quite so 'esoteric' by that point. :D

We've just had a new gas meter installed, we were supposed to get a card today but it didn't arrive so I've got to piss off out to a shop a few miles away to get an emergency gas card... the wind is howling, the snow is fairly thick on the ground... I'm not really a fan of this sort of weather :hahano:

Do they have food and porn there? If so, what's your bloody problem?

Food porn? They're all bloody asexual here - they don't know what porn is! They even think straight-forward food is sinful, if it gives you just ordinary, non-sex related pleasure!!!

I was going to buy my secret Santa recipient a bottle of whiskey & a dildo, but everyone kept telling me she doesn't drink or anything. :D

Well to be more accurate, I was going to buy them because they said she doesn't drink or anything, but thought better of it.

Ye English are getting snowsmiting, how great is that! :D I've always liked winter, lucky me I guess, to live in Finland and like snow... We have a old folksong about northwind, how it brings in the winter and makes all wintry fun possible, it's a praise for the cold deadly wind, the posisitve stuff it does.

Now you guys in England are blessed by it, go outside, build an igloo, go skiing and have a snow war! It's fun. What's even more fun is to go snowswimming after sauna. That's some hardcore thing to do, specially when it's like -20 degrees outside... Hehe.

We used to dig sheep out of snow drifts up to fifteen feet deep in places, we were on the fells 1200 foot up, we could drive over the stone walls in the snowcat in places. It is truly amazing to see how the sheep would make air gaps by moving about, when you got to them they were still warm under there.

I remember leaving my trails bike out in the yard one night, in the morning she was cometely covered, the local councils might manage to dig through to us in a fortnight if we were lucky. That night the snow drited up against the back door and when we opened her next morning, there was a complete wall of white where the opening should be.

I remember deepest darkest Germany, on exercise xmas carrol, it was so bloody cold the French army went back to barracks and the yanks light huge fires to stay warm, the chill took things well below 30, and we stood on watch in the dug outs for 15 max before having to go back into the snow hole lined with thick fir tree branches, nice and toasty in there ok. A bonus one winter we were issued the US army vapour barrier boot, or mickey mouse boots, infact I have a pair still, best boots for the price, which you can still buy ex mill surplus.
