I'm genuinely not so sure Brand owned Paxman.
I reckon they're mates who respect each other and if you listen to Paxman he accepts that the system isn't working.
Watch the barely concealed grins and body language, they are goading and playing with each other.
Brand is on fire at the moment and I contend Paxman is giving him a platform on the 'respectable' political news circuit to fire a warning shot across the establishments bow.

Even the edit at the end lets Brand make his declaration and then cuts as he pops a cheesy grin.

I'm sure Paxman is more jaded than most of us.
He has to meet these lying fucks everyday and attempt to get some grain of truth out of them.

I've done the same sort of thing with my mates and even my kids before.
Devil's advocate, put them on the spot, let them understand and address the complexities, pose the questions that will make them squirm and come back better prepared. (and vis versa)

I see a genuine passion in Brand, and I like him for it.

I don't think that brand 'owned' paxman as such because it appears that they agree on some of what was touched upon they just perhaps see the solution coming in different ways.

Have to say that as a comedian brand has often gone right over my head but what I have watched of him talking about politics and drug addiction has been truly moving.

I hope that the fact he has a platform and an audience means that he can reach more people and get them thinking.

The entire monetary system is as fucked up and twisted as it gets and paxman wants you to keep voting for it.
