Arsenal have blown it. They usually get a poor run of form around this time.
But I reckon Chelsea will lose out because of their lack of decent prolific forwards.

This.

And it's a painful day when you're faced with scousers or City as a 'preferred' champion!

It's bleak when it comes down to this...

I just can't stand anything about Chelsea, their style of play, 'JT', their stupid, oafish supporters, their strong links with racism and hooliganism, the fact that they were absolutely nowhere, and had never been in living memory, until the highly corrupt Abramovich came along, and to top it off the media's obsession with Mourinho even though he routinely comes up with absolute nonsense is extremely irritating. I couldnt bear to see that cunt who poked Barcelona's assistant manager in the eyes come out on top. In their defence, I quite like that song they play before kick-off, but I don't know how much credit they can take for that.

I think City will win it, though, they should do, they've got the best players, best team and best squad. When I wrote a preview of the season, I tipped them to win it, but then again I tipped United to finish second, I think...

It is.... an enormous grooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo at least till next season.
Since there's no chance of a champions league spot now for United, Moyes should just fuck this season off & bring in some of the youth to give them experience. I hear there are some extremely talented youngsters coming through who should be ready for some action next season. The Keane brothers, and Wilson sound the most promising. Apparently Wilson has the pace of Walcott & the skill of RVP. Hopefully a summer of extravagant purchases won't hinder their progress.

Oh yeh definitely!
Fergie spent his whole career knocking Liverpool off their perch don't want them catching up again!
I wouldn't be so arsed about City but their fans are starting to spoil it with all their harping & gloating. It's just not cool.

Salford '92 and Paul Scholes as manager? Neville and Giggs set to complete deal for non-league club

M.E.N. Sport understands Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs will complete their takeover of Salford City within days

Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs are set to complete a takeover of Salford City within days in a move that may see the club renamed Salford 92 and Paul Scholes appointed manager.

M.E.N. Sport revealed last month that the pair of United legends were in talks to buy the non-league outfit last month.

We have now learned that the deal is expected to be signed off shortly – with a target of Championship football within 15 years part of an astonishing masterplan.

Scholes is already heavily involved in the project along with Phil Neville and Nicky Butt and will be part of talks next month aimed at staging first-team games at the AJ Bell stadium rather than at their Moor Lane home.

He is expected to take over as boss as they approach league status.

It is also understood that talks, to bring players from levels as high as the Conference North to the eighth-tier Evo Stik Division One North club, have taken place.

Players from Stockport County are among those thought to have been targeted as the group plan to steamroller their way through the non-league pyramid.

A number of predominantly local businessmen have already been approached for backing and presented with a prospectus from the members of United’s famous Class of 92, which brought unprecedented success to the Reds.

It is understood Scholes will speak to Salford council and Peel Holdings about a deal that would see the club play on the training pitch at the side of the stadium they own, which is currently home to Sale Sharks, Salford Red Devils and United Reserves. That potential agreement would also see a friendly played at the ground in which many of those involved could come out of retirement and put on their boots again.

The source said: “They see this as a huge project and see no reason why a city the size of Salford should not have a football league club. They are already speaking to players from leagues as high up as the Conference North with a view to signing them next year.

“They are selling them a dream, telling them they want Championship football within 15 years and that Paul Scholes will become the manager when they go full-time.

“They’re also saying that they will change the club’s name to Salford 92 – it’s staggering stuff.”

It is thought many of the club’s current committee members will stay on in non-executive roles.

If Salford were to go full-time it is not likely to be before they reach either Conference North or Conference level.

Scholes was pictured with Neville, Giggs and Butt at Moor Lane last month.

The source added: “These lads do not fail at things and there is plenty of excitement surrounding this.”

The proposal would be the latest joint venture between Neville, who was born in Bury and still lives in the area, and Giggs who lives in Worsley.

Butt is a coach with United’s youth set-up and has been helped out by Salford-born, Middleton-raised Scholes, while Phil Neville coaches the first team after playing under David Moyes at Everton.

It's so sweet when Chelsea lose. They always take it with such grace and humility as well.

'kin roll on next season!

Unless of course United beat Munich, but obviously they're in for another dicking. Makeshift defence, both first choice fullbacks out against Robben & Robbery. It's gonna end in tears!

There's been a lot of valid criticism of Moyes but I reckon there's been numerous other contributing factors.
Still not convinced by him but I'm not firmly in the Moyes out camp yet.

haven't read any of this thread but I do have a question, isn't football a soap?
to define a soap opera as an on going saga, doesn't football have the same definition?
will football ever end? what can I do with yesterdays results?

I think you people are fucking great,
fucking nuts, but great :killinme:
I promise I will not post in this thread again, but it is nice to see you are all amusing yourselves to death [neil postman]

Wasn't Postman on about the media though rather than football which is a live entertainment as well as a broadcast?
In Postman's view, multiculturalism is a separatist movement that destroys American unity but on the other hand, he discusses teaching through diversity as an important theme that should be utilized in regard to teaching history, culture and language.

How can multi-culturalism be a separatist movement?
