And yet a couple of days ago Secretary of State John Kerry flew into Kiev and met Reform Chief Rabbi Alexander Dukhovny who wrote this article saying "Yes, there are some marginal groups in Ukraine whose views are anti-Semitic, and some of those people were among the protestors. However, the protestors’ main focus was on changing the corrupted presidency, government and unjust courts, and on getting rid of oligarchs."

Basically the US line. He said this even though one of his congregations was defaced Thursday night.

Yes, but which message, since they conflict is the propaganda?

How so? How can the message be that the new regime is anti Semitic and not anti-Semitic at the same time?

Jews have fled the places in times of war for ages, it's not news. Not to mention that the majority of population of Israel are Russian Jews. That's been the propaganda to create the state of Israel, and many were encouraged to settle there, including American Jews being offered scholarships and jobs. Most "Jewish" people are not even Jewish and don't even know Hebrew, it's just a status some adopt to get into higher positions.
IMHO the Jewish population are the most manipulated to serve the interests of the few on the top.

It's not war that they are talking of fleeing. It's persecution. As for Israel, it is being really quiet about neo-nazis coming to power in a European nation for the first time since WW2. Clearly the US has told it and the ADL to STFU.

No doubt similar pressure has been brought to bear on our media who, like the BBS, think that Seig Heil is not a Nazi salute anymore.

As for most "Jewish" are not even Jewish, you'll have to elaborate there cos I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

You see, for me there just shouldn’t be “Jewish institutions” in the first place, and we shouldn't be talking about "my community". There should just be institutions, and one community. To have a Rabbi speaking this way when he is fundamentally involved, in my opinion, in encouraging and cementing a culture which is separatist in nature is just totally inappropriate.

It doesn’t bother me if people want to have Bar Mitzvahs and whatever else followers of Judaism get up to, I’ve got no idea what they do, but if you so strongly and definitively set yourselves apart from others and ban people from joining your little club unless they submit to your beliefs and customs, then you are asking for trouble. That doesn’t mean that I endorse or excuse any form of prejudice against them, let alone violence, but it seems almost inevitable to me, particularly in hard times.

I would rather we were just all human-beings and said to bollocks to ‘culture’ completely, and focused on what we've got in common instead of revering things that keep us apart.

While Jewish communities can be isolationist and insular, they are hardly uniquely so and in the current climate, this is very understandable.
