It doesn't while the so-called "developed nations" of the World are doing their best to destabilise democracies.

Democracy, best of all direct Democracy, may not be perfect but the alternative is totalitarianism.

Sorry mikey, but you're missing the bigger picture. You're looking at things from a western perspective. Things are not what they seem. It's really debatable what IS real democracy nowadays, as there's hardly any anywhere.

I knew a guy who was a mod elsewhere who talked a lot about peace and light and wakening up. Then he talked about getting rid of this folks and these folks and how we needed "strong leadership".
