Luke & Darth came from the same spunk....
Hi all, hope you're all doing good.
I'll try & keep this as short as I can.
So glad I didn't join in earlier, so much pent up aggression, so much political distress, hearts going out to poor people caught up in this shit left & right, what a stramash.
We all take a side to some degree & most say in the end.. 'we just don't want any more blood or suffering.' I'd like peace out there for real.
I've been in Israel, Jordan & Egypt. There's too much religion mixed in with their politics. Each can be wonderful places & each can be very scary places. Each have their potential.
For whatever is said about the reasons and mechanisms of Israel's reformation - it is there now. It's 20% Arab with many other cultures & peoples plus the only majority national Jewish society on earth. For anyone to destroy this melting pot of life it would be a damn atrocity.
........
It is terrible that the war machine of Israel has gone back into action and the rise of the freedom fighter has been instigated again. Many innocent victims, Palestinians mainly, are left in a bloody mess. There's no excuse for murder.
Ghandi was right & should be followed if humans are ever going to progress properly.
If only we could get rid of extremisim in humanity's soul.
The fight is against the old home owners and the occupiers. One was kicked out of their nation, one was kicked out of their land. One is protecting it's citizens, one is fighting for their future.
Confusing already eh? Just depends where you're reading from I suppose.
What can stop it? Why stop it?
What can stop the blood loss is to cease rocket fire into Israel. Would Israel then have any excuse to show aggression to Gaza?
But why stop the march to total victory by the Arabs?
........
5 years of daily rockets - firing primitive rockets into civilian neighbourhoods is not necessarily to kill or injure but to terrorize. The rocket attacks erode the public’s faith in the government’s ability to defend it. They weaken Israeli deterrence in an increasingly dangerous region. And the lack of drama and lack of media attention ensures that, when Israel finally loses patience and retaliates, much of the world blames Israel, not Hamas, for escalating tensions.
For now there’s no political solution. Hamas doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist; under Hamas rule, Gaza’s children are taught to see Jews as satanic and their state as illegitimate. Hamas’s goal isn’t a two-state solution but a one-state solution, over the ruins of Israel. Israel cannot negotiate anything with Hamas.
They have been able to sit with the West Bank leadership but are now thwarted by the upcoming UN petition. This again can only lead to a lessening of potential of peace.
It is clear that Hamas & Fatah see no negotiation as the way forward. It is then also clear that "When the Palestinians value their children more than they value the killing of Israelis, peace will have a chance."
........
The current escalation started with an manned IDF jeep being blown up. Israel responded by targeting the Hamas leader that kidnapped Gilad Shalit.
Hamas has since fired more than 1000 rockets into Israel in 7 days. Israel has targeted hundreds of Hamas sites.
Who told Hamas to target the jeep? They could have done this anytime since 2007.
Iran. To take the flack off of Syria.
Where is Syria in the news even though 140 were reported killed on Saturday alone.
""Iranians tried heating up the fronts on the Israeli borders via their agents. When unsuccessful on the Syrian and Lebanese fronts, they chose the Gaza Strip. "When the Golan front did not move quickly enough for al-Assad and Iran, they resorted to the Gaza front, because this can be inflamed far quicker" ""
Egypt is now in the hands of The Muslim Brotherhood of which Hamas is an off-shoot. They're threatening assistance which of course means opening the Gaza border to allow arms in, maybe some humanitarian help too, to the militia at least.
Meantime Iran holds the sway against their 'secret' sparring partner Israel. The news is off Iran's nuclear ambitions too.
Iran wants a sit down with the USA in December. Why? Because China & Russia are not so close to Iran these days, in trade & military asistance.
After this provocation against Israel, I doubt if even Obama will be so easy to deal with this time.
........
A parting comment...
A ground offensive would be very damaging for Israel in UN politics at this tepid time but would certainly warm their war-oils in prep for the coming Lebanese offensive. Too many powerful Iranian missles up there now.
But why aren't these missles in Gaza??? You know the answer - because Hamas is not treated the same way by Iran as Hezbollah. Gaza has always been a punching bag in use.
It seems there is a black moon rising elsewhere. Meanwhile Iran is ready to double uranium enrichment at Fordo underground site (IAEA).

Thanks out to most on this thread, fair points all round! For Real.
Especially liked this comment..
"The fact is imo it’s fucking stupid to take sides or form a personal allegiance to one side or the other, that’s what opportunists and emerging/conserving powers try to do, we have the ability to objectively study and understand the entire history of the region, and who benefits from the perpetual war of Jews and Arabs; answer: everyone except Jews and Arabs."
