Syria stands out in quite a few ways, I have been learning. It still owns and controls its central bank and is one of the few nations not to be in debt to the IMF. It has not allowed Monsanto to force GMO products that its people don't want. A fight that Argentina lost and about which that the EU is in "slow defeat". It has lots of oil and gas reserves, so other Big Oil is salivating, obviously. What is more, it is one of the few ME countries that could be called secular and simultaneously, doesn't seem to have become "Westernised", by which I mean had corporations reduce their culture/town centres/music/fasion/food to homogenized crap. Such industries will be very happy for the new market when the dust settles.

All that, and they say it is about the alleged use of CW.

Well, if Assad agrees, and the US and co. carry on with the strikes, then that pretty much confirms that the CW story was an excuse.

Later on Monday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon indicated that he is thinking about asking the UN Security Council to support such a deal.

We were originally told that the primary goal of a U.S. military strike on Syria would be to prevent them from using chemical weapons in the future, and then John Kerry said that Assad could avoid a conflict by giving up all of his chemical weapons.

Well, the Russians and the Syrians have called the bluff.

So does this mean that we will have peace?

Unfortunately, the Obama administration does not seem to want that. The State Department has already come out and announced that what John Kerry said was a mistake. They insist that it was a "rhetorical argument" instead of an actual peace proposal.

So the Russian Today sources have revealed that the "rebels" are preparing a chem attack on Israel.
