Creating a new thread in here for this because it may get lost in the other (TO ALL MEMBERS) and to bring attention to just this area.

First we gotta answer this question:
Are gonna keep the SZ running with the opening of the TZ?

Second, if we do, we have to fill these positions:
Administration the person in charge of all the legal stuff, billing, etc...
Tech Team the person or people that will keep the site running with knowledge in the area of website design
Mod Team the people that will be making sure trolls get warnings/booted, people behave civilly to one another -- also, I think people involved in this area should be able of being neutral and not holding a grudge against one or another member(s) to fulfill the duties properly

We could vote to appoint people to those positions, or let people volunteer...

I too would like to see it continue, am currently multi-tasking between this forum, the TZ, and another mainstream one where I often argue with stupid people But there seems to be general out and out teasing between members here which feels nice in my opinion, where we are that comfortable with it. And it may still serve a good purpose and should be given the chance to see that purpose done.

I was a bit worried about the pricing. I've run a website before, my own, and couldn't manage the price of it... but if you think it looks okay Andy, and you're still willing to pick up the tab (or at least part of it, since we have other members willing to contribute as well), that is a step up from the bottom.

As far as the tech side of it, we're gonna have to see who on here has experience with it and could do it (as I am assuming the two currently handling it are going to be passing the baton for that as well...correct me if I am wrong Frog/Novum).

As far as the moderation side... I think we need at least two, if that is being passed on as well, so they can switch out. Should probably have 3 or 4 so the hours aren't hard on anyone and if someone has to take a leave of absence it can be picked up/shared between the others.

Yes, it's basically up and running, it just needs people who can give access, take access, and fix any glitches that happen in the future (mobile access was brought up somewhere else...so someone with the know how of how to turn a website into a mobile site with only the basics would be needed for that; also if it goes down because of a hacker, someone needs to be able to reboot it so-to-speak without damaging the thing (not saying that would ever happen, but it is one of those issues that a tech team is nice for and is an extreme example)).

I was just a mod, I never had backroom permissions, and I'm certainly not a tech. Especially on a PS3

One of the reasons I had to give up modding was because it was extremely difficult to do it on a games console with a 7 or 8 year old browser.

The console used to freeze at least 5 times per day as well

It's not been designed with the internet as a primary function, it's more like a sort of afterthought. It can browse the internet, albeit fairly problematically

I could have installed LInux on it a few years back, but Sony removed the option with a firmware update, the bastards

I am almost always free in the mornings untull about 1pm and I can take the very late shift from after 9: 30pm until very late. if somebosy picks up the afternoon and evening, we have it covered.
