We've moved to digital format now. Hopefully some will get sold to local family biz and keep jobs but they'll have to do stuff on the side to make a profit. They seem to do ok with 2nd hand console games etc.

I would just be surprised if they launched with download / cloud only games, this would be a phenomenal commercial risk. For me, if I had a choice between a console that had disc-based games, and one that didn't, the choice is obvious. I'm sure it's only a few years away, but I just remember that thread on here where everyone posted their Internet speeds. I've got a pretty good connection here, but I could still walk to the station, get the train to Manchester, buy a game, come home, put my tea on, tidy up, and eat my tea, before one game had downloaded!

Incredibly they currently charge you £10 more for a DL than a boxed game as well.

They'll prolly continue to produce both formats in parallel
