I had a look at the Daily Mail comments on this and the people that basically want the poor to die and disappear, are ready to kill over their savings. :D

Yes, there was a clip about what happened in Argentina in that thing I posted the other week. They were saying that our debt in the UK is much greater than theirs was.

So, if people here anticipate what's coming, and withdraw their funds, what then for the banks?

I don't think you will have a bank run in Britain, it would be more likely in Greece, Spain and Portugal; the countries where people know they're effectively living under IMF rule, and where there are more obvious links with Cyprus.

I view this as basically inevitable. But I suppose there's a chance that it might not happen.

When Costa Coffee were gloating about the number of applicants they'd received for staffing a new branch, there was a copper on the radio here expressing annoyance that a barista's role was offering £20K while a new police recruit gets a mere £19K. (Forget that they want people to manage shops for £12K :roll: ). So the police might feel more on the people's side here when push comes to shove. Possibly. I hope,
