Ever since sean scrambled the link on DIF to recruit here this forum has basically been reduced to the cool crew.

For instance me RIck & ibaster can still learn about the UK without any need for a large audience to be heard from.

But Mike you already live in the UK so there is nothing for you to learn here and your views need a big platform.

Did you honestly think the cool crew would stop consumerism and also end suffering in the 3rd world?

Lets face it 5 years from now the US & UK will be no different than today other than technological advances.

People in the US will still buy flat screens TV's, houses with big yards, fancy cars and take tropical vacations.

People in the UK will still live demoralized under the rule of the Sceptre even if the Queen dies and William holds it.

So Mike how were you going to change the world here at Sanctum Zone because i feel i deserve to know.

If they want to talk about teddy bears and who will be the lucky guy that Ab's has sex with next let them do that.

If wake up bomb & dreadnaught want to talk about economic & galactic doom that wont happen let them do that.

Since Andy probably has the most income and a Sceptre free life he will take this forum over in due time anyway.

I'm not sure which point of Star's you mean. The one where she tried to persuade us we were bad for not attempting to befriend Albie? Or the one where she asserted we should have banned her? If it's the former, I disagreed with her, because I don't wish to befriend hateful nutters. If it's the latter, I think the explanations we'd offered (of there being a difference between a known friend having a bit of a melt-down & a bastard out to be a bastard) is perfectly reasonable.

@gilly at this point i do think mike is on a wind up yes - but at the beginning I think he had a point about how people are being treated differently - same with stars (which is the point of hers I was on about) - there is a difference between someone out to cause disruption deliberately and a known friend having a meltdown i agree

can we honestly say that if it was the other way round and oi or mickey or you or gilly or skets or me or abs started the same thread and ibaster or ra or baron or a new member came in and responded in the same way as oi and mickey did that they would not be pulled up on it? called trolls etc?

What I will say though is that he'd made comments against Oi just before that on another thread. So antagonism is perpetuated.

Re Mike seeing people treated differently, I firmly believe that he tried to stir things up, on the back of the Dogs/WUB situation (and just for clarity, I particularly like both Dogs and WUB) using it as an excuse to make trouble. At the time, he also spoke to the facilitators like dirt (not for the first time). I was pleased to see him get a taste of his own medicine in response.

That's precisely what they did do originally and why they ended up gone.
If someone gets treated badly by a regular on here then it always goes back to their behaviour previously, such as mentioning a certain guys wife and fucking...oh and calling him a prick

Tbh I am not trying to stick up for mike - he knows I don't agree with his behaviour - you have hit the nail on the head though with the antagonism perpetuated - my feeling is that it needs to stop - that tbh is all I am really trying to vocalise. it makes the place unwelcome and turns people off posting here - which is fine if we never want to get 'new blood in' but my feeling is that once mike has been dealt with another member here will become the target for abuse until yet another outside influence takes the heat off for a while. We appear to revel in drama and conflict - which is the antithesis of how the place was 'sold' to me - and its 'our' fault.

perhaps I wasnt too clear I was not saying that mike was a target for abuse I was saying that someone will become a target once the mike stuff dies down.

Someone has had a go at me. Surprisingly he’s had a go at me before about a thousand times. 99% of the time, I ignore it, probably a significant percentage of the time, I don’t even see it. On this occasion, I have responded, purely because he was telling blatant lies.

I shouldn’t have responded, but where is anyone complaining about this?

So I would ask for posts #303, #311, #341 & 367 to be deleted, some of which are my own. Frankly, the whole thread got out of control, and you could have deleted nearly half of it, including virtually every single contribution by the individual involved. In fact, you could delete everything that he’s ever posted, and you would be deleting precisely zero constructive posts.

But apparently when I have stuff deleted, that’s wrong. If I ignore people being rude, that’s wrong too because it creates a bad atmosphere. We don’t condemn people for blatantly breaking the rules. We don’t interfere to express our distaste when people are abusive. And we shouldn’t ban people for pissing about and deliberately causing problems.

But we should not do all these things, and yet still expect to have a forum where people respect one another’s views. Not really very likely.
