Did I REALLY say that Andy ? Or have you just happened to have "misread" what I posted ??!! ;)

You seem to prefer it. That says you prefer being chipped to me.

Why would you need to be chipped if you don't need money? lol...

That's certainly not my own personal view of how we could live without money. I certainly won't be advocating a computer making decisions for humans. The chip thing is strange. I had a lengthy conversation with a chapabout abolishing money a while back over a few smokes. After a while, he totally saw that it could work perfectly. Strangely though he told me that He would love to have a chip so that he could be "connected". That'd be his prerogative of course.

My hope in starting this thread was and is to discuss a possible scenario of the abolition of currency. TVP is perhaps one way of looking at it, Fresco has at least thought about it and presented some ideas. It's just one set of ideas though.
My feeling is that for currency abolition to be possible it would need a lot more people, possibly all of us, to put forward ideas about how the transition could be made and how we could deal with things like the issues already raised by those people here in this thread.

Like I already said, money is gonna be abolished by the ptb ANYWAY!
And like Fresco, the ptb have ALSO "thought alot about it and presented some ideas", which funnily enough, are very similar to Frescos and the Zeitgeisters.

lol boy you have got it wrong.
Money will NOT be abolished, if anything it will be reinforced. You won't be able to trade unless you have the mark.
Money will only be abolished in the sense of no paper money but money as a concept will still exist in the NWO.

Do you think there's no money there steevo? He had to get his receipt...

It wont work the same as money that we have now. They will be carbon credits. And how do you think that that would work ? It would involve RFID type chips. and a computer that lets you know what you can have to eat basically. Farting will be abolished, unless you have enough carbon credits. But dont worry the computer will make sure that the planet is looked after.

@ Guevarista. It's certainly not a bad idea to look to the past for any ideas and pitfalls. I'd certainly be interested in any lessons to be learnt there. I really do think though that this is almost better approached from a clean slate perspective, using our own thoughts about life today and how it could be improved by the abolition of money and how that might be achieved. After all, it's us that are living through this stuff and the diggers didn't have robots and stuff at their disposal ;).

This is an essential process, we apply the consciousness of the present to the examples of the past, let's take Santayana's adage "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." as a motto perhaps in this endeavour and build on past experience with the tools of the now?
Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
Vol. I, Reason in Common Sense

Maybe another one could be the Paris Commune Circa 18th century and Nicaragua 20th century?

In relation to social infrastructure it might be interesting to look at the "squatting" laws?

The computer idea is to create a database of resources and track resources so that sensible decisons and options can come about.
Its not there to make decisions for people

As for chips...why bother in a society that has no money? I can perhaps see tech merging with the human body more as it progresses it's inevitable but I sure as hell would not want to see an elite controlling that tech and restricting its full potential to just the elite.

I disagree on that. From what I can see, I think the plan is to merely transfer the currency to an all digital medium. I don't see any sign of them ditching their main method of control and wealth theft.
If you have any research you can offer that suggests otherwise I'd be glad to see it.
And like Fresco, the ptb have ALSO "thought alot about it and presented some ideas", which funnily enough, are very similar to Frescos and the Zeitgeisters.
Again I'll reiterate, I didn't start this thread to discuss TVP or Zeitgeist. I started it to discuss OUR thoughts on the abolition of currency :)

There is enough food to feed everyone on the planet several times over, have you any idea how much we throw in the bin steevo?
Also why the hell would a computer be there to tell you what to eat when no specific mention of such a thing has been made?
Why would it even be necessary!?
Do you expect all the plants to stop growing all of a sudden?
Why would carbon credits be involved in a society that doesn't have money??

Again you're going way off course steevo.

Inevitable IMHO. Its becoming really obvious destiny that the elite want 100% electronic money with no oversight of it whatsoever and abolition of debt only for the banks. Then they will start doing what they did before all over again.
At first we will use plastic, then NFC devices on and in mobile phones and then...then we will see the chip :(

Yep, really this is an old anarchistic concept, the idea of a world without scarcity, if you create abundance then there is no need for money.

Agreed 100%. We have seen how genuine ideas can be corrupted so many times. It'd be stupid not to take thoselessons into consideration. It would also be stupid not to take the genuine ideas our ancestors had into consideration. There'd be a lot to learn from cultures such as Native North Americans for example who I don't think used currency prior to the Europeans arriving.

But the computer in The Venus Project DOES make the decisions (obviously the computer has to be programmed beforehand though). Youre right Andy, food does NOT stop growing unless there is a natural disaster or a manufactured shortage (either real or imagined), but they would never do THAT ;)

And Dub, cos of free speech on this forum, I can talk about the Venus Project. The subject is connected to your thread. You dont have to reply to all my posts, and then I will not post some much. I realise that I do tend to wind people up, and their ego gets the better of them and they have a compulsion to reply, just like we all do at times :emb: I dont mind very much if I dont get many replies on this particular subject (Venus Project) cos I have already had the discussion with Andy on the DIF and we got no-where, but the discussuin usually were pretty civilised.
