I don't particularly like Stefan Molyneux, but this is a great vid & one I heartily agree with.

That was a series of false analogies, fake logic and if anything showed how societies have become more free over the centuries. It also assumes there is an elite that controls the rest of the population.

So According to you, this "fake logic" was done by a bunch of "Commies"?

Campaign for it, with various places like Colorado and Uruguay taking the first steps, I am sure your want is now more achievable than before.

Being free to campaign for a freedom I might not get isn't my idea of being free!

It is mine!

Then you are 'free'.

Hopefully you will never truly understand the notion of freedom and have to challenge your belief.

Anything you say, sweet-cheeks.

Also, there is little difference between the slave and the free-man. One may realise his indenture and think on it often, the other simply does the same with his freedom.

so completely ignore any and all restrictions on our freedom, but only consider the definition in regards to the few "freedoms" we do enjoy. The current system meets the definition, period.

I don't think you understand the concept of freedom at all, you seem to think if you are given any petty choices in your life then you are free, you have ignored or sidestepped plenty of major examples given in this thread about how little freedom we actually have, yet get positively giddy about the few benefits we have.

Maybe financial security provides the illusion of security and satisfaction for a few. It may also have reasonable purchase on 'smug'.

It is you who does not understand freedom or slavery. You equate limitations on what people can do as a lack of freedom and cause of slavery, ignoring all the freedoms we do have. We have significant freedoms many in the world do not have

www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1998/42/contents

plus all the major freedoms I listed in the OP and those shown in the video, The Story of Your Enslavement. That completely ignores major freedoms or tries to make out they are restrictions. :killinme: Being free to associate with whom I want, marry who I want, work at what I want, live where I want are "petty". What a load of crap you spout!

Yes there are some things we cannot do (at this time) such as smoke pot and live on other people's land without permission and pay taxes. Society has decided such. You can campaign to change the limitations, but if you lose you should accept it.

The presenter of that video has enslaved himself to hippydom and counter culture without even realising it. His clothes, beard and hair style are his uniform to show to others what part of society he aligns himself to. The part he misses is that he is free to do that. Tomorrow he could have a shave and put on a suit and get a company job. He could even swap with an accountant who wants to drop out, grow his hair and have a dress down day every day. Has anyone been watching this series?

Pictures and you tube videos instead of being able to put down your own coherent argument. Next you'll be drawing me pictures with your crayons :killinme:

Here is small meta study of freedom indexes. The UK rates well above average. It is not perfect and there are things we could do better. But when it comes to the major issues, we enjoy significant freedoms. I can prove that.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_freedom_indices

Switzerland or New Zealand are the countries we should aim to emulate.
