Went to a filming of the Antiques Roadshow yesterday and having stood in the pissing rain the whole goddam day in our infamous British ques (which for the record I'm still pretty shit-hot and being able to jump), my poor old bones still ache today... well my calfs actually - and ok, maybe it wasn't technically the fault of the rain and more because I had the wrong footwear on... but nevertheless the rain was a pain in the ass and I never had a brolly with me. Plus it was freezing :aargh:

This is getting beyond a joke now. Every day is the same in these parts; wet and grey. It's just started to thunder now and the BBC and Met Office websites promise no signs of improvement. I would like to emigrate to somewhere in Southern Europe just for some nicer weather.

lmao, you are full of innuendo today ;)

Yes is the answer, I couldn't get out of my lane end as the water was completely over the bridge, if I tried to drive over it I'd end up on a toyota boat trip to cork harbour LOL!

Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) I managed to get in to work via a back lane nearby

Global warming my eye. Anyway, they have stopped talking about 'global warming' and they're dropping 'climate change'. It's all about 'sustainability' and 'biodiversity' now. It's the most miserable summer that we've had for quite a few years, that's what it is. :waa:

Some sunshine would be awesome right now. Does anyone else feel all down and lethargic when the weather is so manky and grey?

The weather's doing my head in too, lesley! According to the forecast, it's set to reach 24 degs C around here today, but no actual sunshine - just 'orrible, grey mugginess! :aargh:

And to follow on what andy and psky were saying about slugs - we have an outside loo (not that we use it - it's for the Council workmen!), and for some reason the outside wall of this (in)convenience is a veritable Mecca for slugs. There were loads on it last night, all tangled together in some kind of mass slug orgy! Oh well, at least some of God's creatures are enjoying the weather! :D

For some reason what you have written about slugs just gave me really bad deja vu - spooky.
